Empowering change and helping you move forward, one step at a time

About Me

Hello, I’m Allen Scott, and I’m here to support you through life’s most challenging times. I understand that reaching out for help takes courage, and I want you to feel welcomed and supported from our very first conversation. As an integrative counsellor, I’m dedicated to creating a space where you can explore your experiences openly, knowing you’re in a safe, non-judgmental environment. Whether you’re dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, or a relationship breakdown, I’m here to listen, understand, and help you move forward.

My approach is rooted in empathy, warmth, and respect for each person’s unique journey. With a Master’s Degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from Roehampton University and registration with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP, registration no. 00956625), I draw on various therapeutic techniques, including person-centered, psychodynamic, cognitive, and mindfulness-based approaches. I am committed to tailoring my approach to meet each individual’s needs, working collaboratively to create a therapeutic experience that aligns with your personal goals and preferences.

In addition to my professional training, my personal experiences with mental health challenges within my own family and close friends have deeply shaped my approach. I know first hand how isolating and complex these struggles can feel. This direct understanding brings a unique compassion and sensitivity to my work, grounding my practice in a genuine commitment to helping others navigate their own paths to healing and resilience.

Before becoming a counsellor, I transitioned from a career in the hi-tech industry, seeking a more fulfilling path where I could support individuals through times of crisis and need. I went on to work as a befriender, listener, advocate, and counsellor with organizations such as the British Red Cross, Mind, The Samaritans, AGE Concern, Carers UK, Shout, and the NHS. These roles taught me invaluable lessons in resilience, empathy, and the importance of human connection, qualities that are central to my therapeutic practice today.

If life’s challenges are feeling heavy, and you’re looking for clarity and support, I’m here to walk alongside you. Together, we’ll work to find understanding, resilience, and hope, moving forward—one step at a time.
